Resources® Playground is a large-scale collaborative building system that brings balance, movement, and construction into a space children can enter with their whole bodies.
Children lift, carry, turn, and position oversized forms as the build takes shape around them. Because different resources can be distributed across the group, no one has everything needed to complete an idea alone. Progress comes through exchange, coordination, and shared decisions.
Designed for children ages 4 and up, Resources® Playground is suited to schools, playgrounds, museums, and other shared spaces for movement, building, and group exploration.

Description
Where Balance Takes Shape Between Children
Resources® Playground is a large-scale collaborative building toy that brings the principles of Resources® off the tabletop and into a space children can physically step into. Familiar forms become large pieces to lift, carry, turn, and position as the structure grows around them.
Balance no longer depends on the decisions of one child. It emerges through the way several children place, support, and adjust different parts of the same structure.
No One Has Everything
At the heart of the group play is a simple idea: different resources can be placed in different hands.
One child may hold Stone, another Water, while Wood, Sand, Steel, Brick, and Tree are distributed among other players. When the piece they need is held by someone else, children need to explain the idea, propose an exchange, or agree on where and when that resource will be used.
There are no opposing teams and no need to defeat another player. Progress depends not on what one child holds, but on how the resources of the group are brought together.
When Several Actions Must Align
Resources® Playground uses no connectors, magnets, or locking mechanisms. Every construction depends on the relationship between shape, weight, angle, contact point, and placement.
At times, several pieces may need to be lifted, positioned, or adjusted almost at once. When one point shifts, the weight and alignment of other parts may change with it. Children have to notice when to pause, what to adjust, and when to act together.
The structure holds when the pieces and actions of the group begin to align.
Building With the Whole Body
The size and weight of the pieces make movement part of the building process. Children carry, turn, and position each form while considering its weight, the space around them, and what has already been built.
The hollow construction keeps the pieces manageable at this scale while retaining enough weight for children to feel and control each movement. Even a small adjustment may require both physical effort and precision.
Movement is not separate from thinking. It is how children turn an idea into something real within the space around them.
Movement Through the Build
At this larger scale, the balls make movement visible across the whole construction.
They can travel through slopes, gaps, and changing levels created by the group. A small adjustment to angle, spacing, or height may affect their direction, speed, or ability to continue along the route.
Their movement gives everyone in the space something to observe, anticipate, and respond to together.
Start Small, Grow the Group
Children do not need to wait for the whole group before play can begin.
One child or a small group can start by building, exploring balance, and creating routes for the balls. As more players join, resource roles and exchange rules can be introduced gradually, adding negotiation and shared decision-making to the experience.
The same system can support individual exploration, small-group play, and a larger collaborative build.
Designed for Shared Spaces
Resources® Playground is designed for approximately 7 to 9 children.
A play area of around 400 sq ft (37 m²) is recommended, with approximately 30 sq ft (2.8 m²) of additional space for pieces that are not currently in use.
Adequate space allows children to see the full construction, carry pieces between different areas, and reach its various parts without feeling crowded.
Resources® Playground can be used indoors or outdoors. When not in use, the pieces should be stored in a dry, covered space.
Materials, Dimensions, and Care
Each piece is made from Polyolefin Plastomer.
The forms are fully enclosed and hollow inside. This construction keeps their weight manageable at a large scale while preserving enough physical effort to make lifting and positioning part of the play.
The surface provides enough grip to help the pieces remain in contact with one another, including on inclined faces, without sliding too easily. This gives children time to refine angles, contact points, and placement as the construction develops.
